Largest and a Powerful DEMOCRACY!
All right, so Mr. Barack Obama, congratulations…for being the new President-elect of United States of America.
The US elections were interesting right from the time it started for obvious reasons. Firstly, Mr. Obama proved his victory by putting a stop to the ongoing rule of Bush-Clinton-Bush dynasty. And secondly by snatching the crown of ‘Mr. President’ from the jaws of Mr. McCain.
What all I could follow and therefore understand is that he came out a winner as an American solely and not as a representative of some “community” which I think is a hard thing to expect here in India that someone would come up courageously without being associated to some group to save his ***. We all are aware of the state of affairs here, citing an example of Mulayam-Mayawati promised promises towards their respective communities Or Congress supporting Muslims and BJP supporting Hindus stories, and if one can take out sometime to listen Mr. Thackeray’s speech made in favor of Maharastrians..what fun! The list is long…
NO, I am not bitching about anyone or supporting/disrespecting any political leader or their parties or maybe doubting their agendas. Just that, I want my country to break away the chain of having orthodox mentalities in which it is trapped which keep passing to its progeny unchecked and God alone knows how long it may go unless there is some CHANGE! Change of the sort like in America. I am just no one to bicker about it but I am just comparing the situations on the opposite sides of the globe. We have here those oldies(in the top positions) who rarely interacts with media and their left job is done by not-so-important politicians who just know how to throw mikes upon their rivals in the parliament house or know how and when to change ‘costumes’ when perhaps, they were supposed to take strong actions against terrorists.
We are progressing, yeah, if we look our graph of success. we are making missiles, launching chandrayans, winning gold’s and lot more at national and international level but the old problems keeps on persisting. Whether its about Kashmir(which is like a Gordian knot to solve), Naxals, women safety,dowry,corruption……………..because we don’t want to eradicate the problem by taking immediate steps that’s why I like America for standing up immediately if challenged by a problem.
I read it somewhere, that Obama stood up in Chicago and declared “if there is anybody out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible…today is your answer”
I just seek this much of confidence in our leaders to dare speak like this some day!

Festival of lights :)
***************************************************

Today is a day after Diwali and it’s a well-earned holiday for me.
It was a good celebration with family and friends. but best is this occasion when you can surrender yourself to sweets bothering least for those extra calories. Because, Diwali comes once in a year so you kind of let your sweet tooth speak for you.
ANOTHER beautiful day!! After so much of wretched schedule past week, it was like a real high on this bright, sunny day.. Although, so much to do today, as in, to complete Manu sir’s file that is to be submitted on Friday, will do later. It really is a lazy day around here, so far spent lounging around inside the house. The weather has changed pleasantly and is providing a touch of winters. Will just soak in the moment for sometime and later will go for a stroll in the evening.
India is playing its third Test Match of Border-Gavaskar series against Australia, with Sachin on pitch, batting along with Gambhir.so far,its been a very interesting match, especially the Watson-Gambhir-Katich bust-up.haha.Aussies start sledging the moment they see competition before them.Same was today. Right from the outset, Lee,Johnson and Watson said few words here and there followed by a raised arm as Gambhir took a single to which Gautam responded with a hard elbow in Watson’s sculpted abdomen.haha. well done boy..!
Sitting comfortably, eating all the good things possible. Basking in some good old memories and exciting plans ahead. Its fun. Life is good!

Its not that I dint make an effort. I tried, But all in vain. I wasted my time, made my brain a reservoir of thinking process that I never did before, thought it might click someday, but naaa..!! n now, seriously, I don’t wanna try any further.
Possibly, i am not that lucky. It’s so easy to listen stories of others; but when it comes to yoU, especially me.. It appears as some cosmic thing, some Darwinian principles. It just doesn’t click this side (n I don’t expect a serendipity, please..Duh!) n it wont.. I’ve come to know about it. n if u ask me, I give a damn to it now. Crap cRap crap!!! I don’t know what I am writing even. probably just want to write kjldsfjihds..write some utter crap! Words fail me. It seems impossible to sum up the emotions stirring deep , seems impossible to try to understand those anthropogenic relations n their existence n importance for that matter. Will those come true for me ever? ...........
I have my frigging assignment looming over my head.i don’t wanna do. An emotional fool can only float in the sea of expectations.
When you have nothing to do you think.don’t you? You think and therefore you go crazy and then it starts to hurt and therefore haunt. And then it becomes tough to think coherently or in other words it starts disturbing you and therfore distracts you hell out.
Just when sitting all by myself in the morning today, these words came babbling to my ears, what once my prof. told in the class, “there’s a right time of everything in life, and one needs to wait till it comes”
I dint bother about it then, but I understand what she really meant now.
I pass a genuine smile n go complete the assignment!

KHARAGPUR TRIP
It started with him and ended as well..For he was the topic of our discussion most of the times (not for any good reasons, though)..it was him who booked our seats for purshottom express which took almost 24-26 hrs to reach our destination that could have been covered in less than half of this time had we chosen other train. Nevertheless, we enjoyed it as we got more time together.
On 23rd night I reached New Delhi railway station! It was the first time I took a short, week day trip ONLY with friends and therefore was li’l scared..scared to be going to a distant place without family (mebbe its kiddish of me, but its true). But soon it was over.
My friends and I had been looking forward to the trip so we didn’t want to waste any time at all. After we finished our classes in daytime; as some had already brought their luggage in the campus while others like me had planned to go to home n return to station. Our compartment was firing with noise, laughter. We discussed every possible topics ranging from dowry to caste-system to “Hema” etc to pass our time. Played Antakshari to beat the time, clicked number of photos. In b/w Manisha, Ankita; while I was sleeping, screwed up Pandey.haha..
I can say ,Our journey was fruitful as Paulomi finished an entire novel and I finished a half read novel which I was planning to do from time immemorial..lol!
We reached to the world’s longest platform i.e. Kharagpur at 2:10 am 25th morning, n took taxi to reach to our allotted ‘Vishwesarya guest house’. The room we got was just awesome.. the entire day we had nothing to do but to just explore the campus. It was a large campus, and many plants on it. But what impressed me most was the atmosphere and greenery there. The campus is one of the largest campus of our country or may be Asia.Between those similar looking buildings were many narrow paths; beside these paths lay green trees swaying in the breeze. I took a deep breath, relaxing myself, and enjoyed the serene, peaceful moment.
There’s a famous Tech market, which had almost everything. Sunlight shinning on us through leaves was not flashing but mild. We stayed out till the night darkened the sky. There was one open restaurant where most of the crowd used to gather in the evening n night. As we dint know much of the place then, so did our breakfast-lunch-dinner at our guesthouse only. The food was yuck!
The next day was the day of work. The purpose of our visit i.e. workshop was on
“ Bioinformatics in Genomics and Proteomics” the first day was of only lectures by the faculty of Deptt. Of Biotechnology, IITkgp and some other universities. I was seated with Pandey away from rest of my frens..
later I got to know that they were found sketching cartoons during some of the lectures. :)
from left: paulomi, preeti, myself, manisha and ankita
[this was after the workshop has ended]
All those who came from other universities were different ppl, not indulging in talks or else but towards end it all became interactive; even with pandey’s roomie who was once chosen a suitable match for paulomi..lol!
Bengalis really like rasogullas so much that it was a part of every meal even with breakfast! Phew!!
But damn!! The lady attendant at food counter was horrible; she used to give us “Zee horror show” type looks whenever we went to ask for food.
The act of sleeping according to my roomies was a prohibited act .so slept very little there utilizing our time in other activities.
But the best part was when we met Biman and Nandana at Sahara restaurant. They are research scholars in Prof. Kundu’s Tissue engineering lab.i also met my super super senior from grad’n college who is now doing research from iitkgp only. That restaurant is the heart of IITkgp in the evening with all sorts of crowd of B.Techs,M Techs, research scholars etc. we talked like anything with ‘em.so down-to-earth persons they were.
After dinner they took us all for a long walk of the entire campus finally reaching to Nandana’s Laxmibai hostel for women where we weren’t allowed to enter as it was already exceeding 11 pm.
IITkgp campus is the safest campus, we were walking at 12 or so in night. N that was just fun!
Next day was hands-on-training day at Takhshila hall, as promised by Biman sir, organized by all the ‘young’ not so boring type research scholars and that no one would feel bore as previous day. We learnt DNA->RNA->PROTEIN conversions on all the bioinfo tools including restriction enzymes modification followed by Ramsol software program which was the most coolest and interesting thing to do.
After the hectic day, we again met Biman and Nandana for dinner at Sahara’s. she invited us to her hostel which again was a memorable experience..
The trip was short but a very good one. Traveling with friends, I have different feelings about everything. But what’s different is that I can share these feelings with my friends, so do they. With different people, you have different feelings. And this is also why the trip with friends can be so interesting and fascinating to anyone.

what an evening!
And when I look up at it almost after a week time or so, the large expanse of it gives me a calming effect... n it always does, as if taking away all the worries from life...
the sight of wispy cottony white clouds, flowing freely..feels like letting your soul move along with it..
The soft breeze flowing.. touching your body, combing your hairs...
Sound of birds chirping , as if jussst for you...
a soft music playing in the back ...... only makes me say-"what an evening"!

Somebody came and kicked me out of the stadium so far so that I couldn’t be located anymore.
And there I stood slouching against the wall, bewildered and confused..
As if God has just played a trick on me.. leaving all shattered ..now snapping fingers asking ‘oh, poor child! what’s so wrong’?
Something you sincerely waiting and wanting to do and in a fraction of time u loose it..u loose it all..u loose the spirit man!
But now,you cant just sit n moan. You have to be working it out. You lost it..yoU have to get that back!

INVINCIBLE HEPTAD!
I have become such a sloth
Who pseudo-work for 5 weekdays
Crawl the next 2 days
Curse the evening of Sundays
n feel blues every Monday..
Wo..it all rhymed! Yay !!
Every year the day of 15th August comes bringing fire in the hearts of many Indians, when the national anthem is orchestrated, those magical lyrics.. heart full of gratitude n respect towards motherland makes each one of us proud! And with our country finding its way to the list of Gold medal winners in the worlds biggest stage for sports, one would only be hopeful to see such fabulous stories of human achievements repeating itself for our Nation.
So, I was surfing music channels 15th morning .. when I paused to look at this video..i bursted into laughter that my sis came asking whats so funny is on? I pointed her t.v screen the song“ DES RANGEELA” from the movie Fanaa.
I know many don’t know this song like me, had naveen jindal not come up with his idea of organizing this competition at my college :(
For all those who don’t know Mr. Naveen jindal:
He heads a steel and power empire and is a champion polo player and a skeet shooter. He has also won a decade-long and a relentless court battle to secure the right of Indians to hoist the country’s flag everyday and not just on special occasions like Independence and Republic days. "The Indian flag does not just belong to the government or the bureaucracy, it belongs to every Indian.
The competition was to show your patriotic spirit by any means..n the prize money was too lucrative ..5000/- …we made a group of 7 n started sieving the best possible song which would fetch us the prize money..lots of picks..this song, that song..bla bla bla.. when finally we agreed to that Fanaa song..i never ever listened that song before, that was neetika’s sick idea(or prove me wrong..huh!).. I still curse her for that.. I guess coz I was all too enthu n gusto that I agreed to that deal..we had 2 days to prepare for it!!
Next morning..we 7 came to clg but no one attended even single class..reason? our oozing-patroitic-spirit..sat on the rock gardens..bunking zoo pracs, practiced the whole day n the next day.
The D day came, it was to happen in the Audi. the stage set, audience ready ..n judges impressed to see lots of young audience(coz usually the Audi was empty when events like this happen, bolly n western dance n music shows are always preferred by youth) ..okay, so we waited eagerly for our turn..the spirit of nationalism strong in our hearts..n we gave our shot..i rem we planned to add special effect to our song by making neetika splash red colors (some holi colors) while we sing to make the event more happening (ah! neetz looked a dumbfound jerk..) we started clapping ourselves while neetz did the coloring part..judges got into complex watching our spirit ,they too started bucking up, our faces enlightened, we sang louder..n funny part was that we had called out our fellow classmates to be among audience so as to cheer us up (actually to clap for us) awww!!..lolll…the whole Audi was enthralled, performance was splendiferous enough to win us that prize.. (all acc. to our fool minds, we actually made castles in the air)
After all that act, we sat in the audience to see rest performances..i rem one girl came n sang an awful patriotic song, we booed her in heart..(reason: our oozing spirit :P) invincible heptad! :D
Finally the show got over..then came the judgement time::::
2nd runner up is xyz
1st runner up is ...
(we, ecstatic,over-confident fools, believed that the prize only n lonely :P belong to us)
nnn the firsttt prize goes to ::::::::: the girl who sang that “awfull song”
.....................................................................
Embarrassed…dissed…mocked down…that as soon we received our consolation patriotic music CD prize, we left the Audi( we wanted to leave the Audi ASAP, but someone told us not to go)… we cracked into immense laughter outside.. laughing out really loud..n still after 1 n half year the moment is fresh in minds n makes us pull our jaws again..
Because in all honesty we are all crazy as hell and when we are around people it is a big act brought on by wanting to be accepted, n I do silly things around people Im super close with, but that was a public shame! Lol!!!
Its so cool to just sit in retrospection,n remember the good old college days!(not too old, mind you) ;)
